Saul Leiter: The Centennial Retrospective Out This Fall
The new book Saul Leiter: The Centennial Retrospective, with 340 images over 352 pages, will be released in the autumn of 2023 around the world. The original edition from Thames & Hudson Ltd. in the U.K. and Thames & Hudson Inc. in the U.S. will be joined by international co-editions from Seigensha (Japan), Hans Media (Korea), Textuel (France), Kehrer (Germany), Editorial RM (Spain), and Contrasto (Italy).
The book represents all of Leiter’s bodies of work, including street photography, fashion images, paintings, and nudes and intimate portraits, with essays by Margit Erb, Adam Harrison Levy, Lou Stoppard, Asa Hiramatsu, and Michael Greenberg. A chapter titled “Beginnings” uses photographs by Leiter and others to tell the story of the artist’s early life and career.
